: Different VDCs and municipalities of Mahottari district have been declared ‘dry-hit’ zone after the sources of water going dry with a long spell of drought and increasing temperature.
An emergency meeting of the District Natural Disaster Relief Committee presided over by Chief District Officer Birendra Yadav on Tuesday declared 10 VDCs and two municipalities of Mahottari district the dry-hit area.
The decision was made to declare Pashupatinagar, Belgachhi, Bharatpur, Laxminiya, Hattilet, Aurahi and Bijayapur VDC and Gaushala and Bardibas municipalities as dry-hit area.
The committee also decided to request to Home Ministry and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, among other concerned agencies to run special drinking water scheme in the zone. RSS
