Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior leader Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani said that the problem of unemployment is increasing in the country for the government’s inability to spur investment in productive sector.
He said this while expressing solidarity with the mass hunger strike organized by Economic Revolution Campaign for Employment and Prosperity at open theatre in the capital on Tuesday.
He shared that the number of workers involved in productive sector before 20 years was 204,000 and it is only 223,000 now. “The data indicates the decreasing production and increasing unemployment rate”, he added.
The demands of hunger strikers are genuine, Dr Lohani said, stressing that the government should immediately introduce and enforce necessary Act in line with the constitutional provision to provide employment opportunities to youths.
The fast-onto-death had started since April 27. The youths staging hunger strike have put forth several demands including granting employment as per the qualification, capacity, skills and competence and providing loan based on educational qualification if not employment. RSS
