US national Bill P Frerking had come to Patan Durbar Square some time ago to look at a statue of the King Narendra Malla.
He took interest to visit the historical place after his grandfather narrated him about the Malla-era King.
His grandfather had taken some snapshots of the statue during his visit to Nepal in 1964 AD. “The photographs are still safe and they have also encouraged me to visit the palce”, Bill said.
Patan Museum Chief Suresh Lakhe said that Bill has come to observe the post-earthquake situation of Patan Durbar Square.
The inflow of tourists to the tourism areas of Lalitpur has gradually increased this year while there was no movement of tourists in the area last year.
Most of them are the external tourists who want to see the post-earthquake changes in the historical places.
The Museum sources said that tourist flow is rising with the dissemination of information through different media that Nepal is safe for visits after earthquake.
Chief Lakhe said, “There was very nominal flow of tourists to the area last year due to earthquake devastation. But now the earthquake has also become one of the causes for tourists to visit the places”.
It is also found that some of the tourists are visiting the places to study the situation before and after the earthquake, he shared.
