Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel delivered his speech at the 55th session of the Asian-Afreican Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) taking place in Indian capital city of New Delhi since May 16.
According to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister Kharel congratulated newly-elected general secretary of AALCO, Prof Canady Gestrom and recalled the contributions of the organization in facilitating international lawa and shape the progressive legal values.
He stressed the need that the AALCO which was established 60 years ago has played crucial role in promoting good governance and protecting equal rights and welfare of the countries at regional level being based on the principles of neutrality, equality and freedom.
The Minister also noted that the burden of climate change should in no way be transferred to the Least Developed Countries and stressed that the landlocked countries should be provided free transit right to access sea port.
The session will last on May 20.
