More than 7,500 people with various health related problems were treated free of cost at cost-free health camps organized by Galkot Service Society, Japan in the district.
In the three-day health camp held in Galkot, a total of 7,550 patients with eye disorders and diseases among other health problems received cost free treatments, organizers said.
Society’s Chairman, Harka Thapa, said at least 5,400 people suffering from diseases other than those related to eyes were treated at a camp in Harichaur whereas the eye health camp at Hatiya area treated 2,150 eye patients.
A total of 20 specialists and 43 health workers were involved in the two camps. The doctors also carried out minor surgeries, said Dr Jivan Thapa.
During the health camps medicines worth Rs 1 million were distributed for free. The health camps were held with support of the proceeds generated through a cultural programme organized by the Society on New Year’s Day. RSS
