The vaccines for Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) have been administered to around 80,000 children here.
The vaccination campaign which kicked off on May 8 in two phases has concluded, District Health Office, Baitadi Vaccination Official, Birendra Bhatta said.
The health office had initially set a goal of vaccinating 72,000 children in the age group 1 – 15, but it shot past the target.
A total of 400 medical workers and 831 women health volunteers were mobilized for the campaign. The vaccination for Japanese encephalitis was carried out for the first time in Baitadi with the mosquitoes menace gradually on the rise in this far-western hilly district. RSS
