Laparoscopic surgery is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed far from their location through small incisions elsewhere in the body. This is a telescopic surgery which does not require holes in the abdomen.

Hospital’s Senior Gynecologist Prof Dr Padma Raj Pant said the surgical technique can be used for Hysterectomy to remove uterus, Myomectomy to remove uterus tumor and Radical Hysterectomy surgery to cure uterus cancer, among others.

He said that the Hysteroscopy surgery is being performed in Nepal of late in which operations are performed to remove tumors from women uterus with the use of telescope.

Dr Pant further shared it does not require making holes in the abdomen as in traditional technique for the removal of tumor.
