Mugu, April 24: It has been found that the packets of rice sent by the government as a relief to the farmers of Mugu district two years ago was not distributed to the needy.
The government-sponsored relief to the famers of eight VDCs of Mugu was found hidden in a house. The government had immediately sent the relief when the hailstorm with rain immoderately destroyed the crop yields of farmers while harvesting.
With the devastation caused by the hailstorm that occurred on 25 October 2014 the government had sent more than 3,104 quintals of rice to the victim farmers. However the victims have not yet received the relief even it was sent two years back targeting 115 households.
A meeting of the District Food Management Committee had decided to assign Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) district leader Puru Nepali to transport the relief to Srikot Depot meant for distribution to farmers of five VDCs from Surkhet to Khatyang belt. RSS
