Reconstruction of the damaged sections of a trekking route up to the base camp of Dhaulagiri Peak has begun. The ‘Gorkha’ earthquake and landslides occurred last year inflicted damages on the route segments at Mudi VDC.
The District Development Committee ( DDC), Myagdi has provided the financial and technical assistance to repair the route and the Mudi folks are too contributing voluntarily to the restoration of the route up to the base camp of world’s seventh highest peak, according to Mudi Trekking Route Construction Consumers’ Committee Secretary Chak Bahadur Gharti.
Over two kilometers of the damaged segments at different locations will be repaired under the route restoration project. The DDC has released Rs 2.5 million for the implementation of the project. RSS
