The Legislature-Parliament has passed the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Bill, 2016, with a majority.

Earlier, responding to the questions raised by lawmakers during discussions on the bill in parliament Monday, Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi said the bill has been brought for the development of the economic sector of the country and boost export trade.

Lawmakers had participated in the discussions on the proposal that the House discuss the SEZ Bill along with the report of the Industry, Commerce and Consumer Welfare Affairs Committee.
The parliament next meets at 2pm on August 30.
