The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Executive Committee meeting held on Sunday took the decision to seek participation of all the branches of the banks in the process of distributing grants.
Speaking to the National News Agency (RSS), NRA Spokesperson, Ram Prasad Thapaliya, said that earlier the Rastriya Banijya Bank and Nepal Investment Bank Ltd were handed over the responsibility of the task of distributing grants at Singati of Dolakha while Nepal Bank Ltd, Rastriya Banijya Bank and Agricultural Development Bank were deputed with similar task in eight VDCs of eight districts.
“The decision of the executive committee follows a discussion held with Nepal Bankers Association, Development Bankers Association, Nepal (DBAN) and Nepal Financial Institution Association (NFIA) on Sunday,” said Thapaliya.
The distribution of grants will be carried out through single account system. The banks will be provided the details of the beneficiaries in electronic data.
The NRA will then request the Rastra Bank to arrange for a provision allowing the concerned bank to open the bank account of the beneficiary household on basis of the data and by not making the need for the presence of any member of the household mandatory for the same. RSS
