The locals of Mishra Danda and Khamare villages of the district area are happy lot with the newly set up water supply system now reaching their residences.
The District Development Committee (DDC) Panchthar introduced a drinking water project at a cost of Rs 1.4 million to quench the thirst of the villagers.
The village did not have a water supply system before the DDC set up the pipes to supply drinking water to 32 households in the region, Drinking Water Consumers’ Committee Chairman, Kamal Mishra said.
“The villagers were compelled to leave the area due to scarcity of drinking water, now we are happy as water taps have been installed at every household,” he said.
Committee’s Secretary, Rupesh Budhathoki, said the drinking water is being supplied from a source at Dhalnebote area of neighbouring Yangnam VDC. RSS
